Extreme vibration while towing.
Extreme vibration while towing.
Has anyone else encountered this? I have a 2009 XLT Supercrew 4x4 and experience extreme truck vibration when pulling a trailor. Seems to do it worse between 60-70 mph. Anything slower or faster and it gets somewhat better. Also seems to do it worse with lighter loads such as single axel 12 ft trailor loaded with 1 ATV. I have pulled many different trailors to eliminate trailor problems. I have had wheels re-balanced thinking that might be the problem. Absolutley no vibration when NOT pulling a trailor. I am stumped. Anybody know what causes this, or how it can be corrected?
Probably unlikely since he's towed numerous trailors and having the same problem.

If you had the TSB performed by the dealer for the driveline "clunk" on start-up (where they took out the driveshaft and replaced the grease in the slip yoke), they probably didn't index the driveshaft correctly. Happened to me and only noticed it when towing. After I argued with them and they called Ford Tech, they fixed it and now it is right. Do a search here on "vibration" and the post will pop up.
