This sounds good in theory but when your truck barely fits in the garage and you have to fold them in and out twice a day it gets old.

The tow mirrors are an option on any tow package.

Here is my suggestion though: If you want the upgraded cooling components, get the trailer tow package, but if you do not tow, do not get the max package.

I can't say as to the regular setup, but the max tow mas a stiff/harsh suspension unless you have a load on it. My payload is something like 1750...SCrew, 6.5' bed, max tow...I have 360 lbs of sand in the rear for winter traction assistance, I weight 150, plus I have another 150 to 200 pounds of "stuff" in the truck. If I take out say 400-450 of that, the rear end beats you up quite a bit. It's almost like the weight is pre-loading the springs and smoothing it out.

I had to have the max tow because if I have a truck (first one in several years), it isn't uncommon for me to hook up to trailers with 5 ton of hay on them. For a daily driver, I would not recommend the max package.

Not sure why but in Canada, the big TT mirrors are optional EVEN WITH the max tow pkg. Been that way all along.

Thats what they should do. And make the power fold TT mirrors optional for those of us that want to pay.

Love the big mirrors on my Platinum, although I have scraped them both....

Less enthused about the gas mileage with the low gears.

Love the truck.

If you get the Max tow, you may as well go with the 3/4 ton model. It's only a couple thousand more. You'll get all the same features, better payload and Heavy Duty everything. That's with the gas engine obviously as the Diesel is a whopping $8,000 option!!!

if you're gonna spring for a 3/4 ton, go ahead and get a 1-ton. It's only a little more. And heck, go ahead and get the F450 since it's not a whole lot more than the 1-ton.

We could play that game all day long. You're comparing apples to oranges.

That is such a simplistic.. tired take.

Never mind, its taller, longer, rides much worse, and on and on and on and on.

"All the same features"!

Had an '08 Super Duty. I loved the truck until I had to park it in a parking garage or even try and drink my coffee on the way to work.....every bump was harsh enough to well....you get the picture.

But I agree, not the purpose of this thread. I have the tow package but not max tow. Has the cooling components. Trans runs cooler on the '11 than it did in my Suburban with the heavy row package.

Its been said already but until Ford starts making them just get what you want then swap out your mirrors. It will cost you a little but its been done numerous times on here. Case closed...
