2010 STX Vibration

Bought the truck less than a month ago and get a very noticable vibration from 45-55. Dealer did a Road Force balance and changed the tire air to nitrogen. Still there, and now the techs are saying this a normal condition for the truck because the 4.6 is lighter than the 5.4. I have owned F150's since 1997 and never had this. Sorry excuses from dealer too. Anyone get this problem?

Mine vibrates too... I can see my leg/foot vibrating on the floorboard.
Its NOT the tires either.

Its an inherent issue with the truck.

Did you not notice it when you test drove it?

My Silverado had a vibration as well, but the Ford seems worse.

Disappears over 60mph

Lots of squabble over there. Seems as lots of these trucks have it.

Everyone's got theories of what causes it.

Different dealers have tried different things that fixed the same issue.

I'm NOT willing to have my truck in and out of the shop for such a minor annoyance.

I do think the front tires are out of balance though. i might try that, and it it goesn't get better just live with it.

I can't believe Ford would let their customers "live with this issue". I didn't notice it when I test drove it and I believe it is getting worse as time goes on. Guess there's no reason to be loyal to any car maker that lets that go. This is my 6th F150, maybe my last.

Last week I heard from the dealer's service department. Ford's official stance is that the F150 has the vibration and is considered "Normal". Note I didn't say acceptable, but that they consider it as inherent to the 4.6L version of the F150.
I guess the lesson is to avoid the 4.6L F150 at all costs. When you have a vibration that you feel, this means what is happening is a Harmonic Imbalance that can do nothing but damage to the driveline over time. What you feel in the cab has been dampened by suspension, insulation and upholstery. Can you imagine what is happening to the driveline where it is all starting?
Too bad for Ford, they are turning into G.M.

It must be minor as I have never felt it and I have had mine for a year. I guess I just am not as picky because I bought a TRUCK not a luxurary sports car. Now if I had a vibration in the sports car I would be upset.

Could be a number of things, I get a "lugging" sensation sometimes before the tranny downshifts but it is not as the truck is falling apart due to imbalanced harmonics.

No vibration issues with my year old '10 XLT 4x4, either.

18" wheels w/3.73LS, Scab.

Certainly not a minor problem. The drone is persistent and getting worse. Yes, I bought a TRUCK and not a luxury car so I don't expect a Lincoln ride, but not a Silverado ride either. I wonder if those that do not experience have the 4.6 or the 5.4? Never had this problem with any of my prevoious trucks. Even the 2000 with 111k miles I traded in was better.

I know this is an OLD thread, but I just wanted to say that...

I have a 2013 regular cab now with the regular 17 inch tires and steel wheels with 3.31 axle.

i have ***NO*** vibration any longer, none.....absolutely none at 55mph (the annoying point earlier).

Previously, I had a regular cab, 18 inch MICHELIN tires, the 18 inch alloy wheels, and the 3.73 axle.

I said all along it was the wheels and tires, and possibly the 3.73 gear ratio all together causing this.
