Don't think you can get many options in the stx, just 1 above xl. My brochure says 5L isn't even an option, never mind EB.

STX does not have as many options as FX4. But you were saying Ford should compete against the Ram Sport and Silverado RC. The STX competes directly against those two. Ram Sport has nothing - cloth, no features, nothing special. Same with the Silverado. At least with STX you can get SYNC and some nicer upgrades. And yes 5.0 is available in a STX RC. If you think it will be only a matter of time to Ford adds a regular cab to FX4 you are wasting your time.

I was wrong, it does say 5L.

ram sport comes with everything, including 390hp hemi, dual exhaust through bumper and cowl induction hood. other than that, nothing over the f150.

The XL or STX might not look half bad for the price. Kind find any pics of the reg. cabs. Get one for mid $20k, would be pretty good.

That's the R/T which only comes in 2wd.

From what I read, you were looking for 4wd (FX4) and the Sport trim level overall includes 4x2, 4x4. But the R/T only come in 4x2 regular cab, you can get a 4x4 regular cab, but it is only a Sport.

If you want 4x4 regular cab, Ford still has the better package.

Ford made something for Sema in 2009 that is more like what you are looking for, but there has been no news on that since (and again it's 2wd.)

Can it be built with the off road package? Thought for 2011's that now comes with the locker and the off road goodies the fx4 has. Still dosnt get you the leather and such, but its a start.

edit: just noticed it was already mentioned

Interesting. Looks like canada gets the reg.cab 4x4 sport 5.7 but not the u.s.

edit: getting conflicting info on their site. under the u.s. build, you can get a sport 5.7 4x4, non r/t.

Yeah, the websites are really confusing (I can't even find out how to build an R/T on the Ram site) but the Ram forums say there is no 4x4 on R/T. Here is a thread I found on the matter. They are both from Canada.

Q: "I love the color same as mine but I am no RT. Can RT's be ordered in a 4x4 type model?"

A: "I see your Ram is a 2010. This is a new color for 2011 Deep Cherry Red Crystal Pearl it is a shade darker then Inferior Red because we have a Chrysler 300 in Inferior Red and we parked them side by side to see the difference. No there is no 4X4 in the R/T model it cames one way, Reg cab, short bed, buckets seats and perforance hood and with a lot of standard equipment that is optional in a lot of models."

So if you must have regular cab and 4x4, a 2011 F150 XLT with the off-road package is going to be the best you can buy right now.

Regular cab trucks are a dying breed. Loaded regular cab trucks are almost extinct. I always special order mine. I've had a '95, '97, '99, '02, '05 and now a 2010. I have absolutley no use for an extended cab or super crew. As long as I can keep special ordering them, I'll keep buying them.

Regular cabs have essentially become work trucks. People who buy work trucks don't want all that high end stuff. I'd bet that 90% of the regular cab 2011's will be XL's with the 3.7.

Im also a reg cab kinda guy, i used to always want extended cabs for the extra leg room for me thet driver, but the new reg's have tons of room, my 6'7'' dad alsomst has to scoot the seat forward HA.... as long as ford is taking orders for reg cabs, you'd think they would at least offer whatever options you wanted, especially comfort and interior options. I understand the cost of the FX4 equitment may be a hassel for ford, but the easy stuff, youd think they would meet the personal order demands of the customer, its not like they arent going to charge you for it.

Ram sport 4x4 gets you pretty much everything anyways. Not that I would buy a dodge.

Why don't you just build your own Fx4 reg cab truck?? Won't cost any extra then buying a brand new one anyways.

Dodge R/T is really nice, bucket seats with console, navigation with back up camera. The seats are leather with cloth inserts, pretty comfy. I just won't buy one with that old school trans in it, I really dislike the Dodge trans. I thought about building my own fx2, but swapping in a console, navigation and back up camera would be a big hassle, if it even worked.

Me and the wife just love regular cab trucks, but if we can't get one optioned like we want, we won't buy one. I've got my 2 seat car, she has her jeep grand cherokee diesel, and we are selling my Dodge quad cab. I think we can get by without a truck, but we'd love to sell her jeep too, and get a regular cab truck.
