Well, no doubt the increase for the weight of the 6.2L alone. I have to do a real scrutinous study, but it appears to me that if someone one really needs the 6.2L to do some real towing or hauling, they'd be better to go for a 3/4 ton. By the time you add up the additional cost of the 6.2L engine, the Max Tow, and all the other goodies, an F-250 can't be far behind. Then, you'll get about the same poor mpg, be able to really haul and tow with a more stable platform, and have a real truck.

Yep, the XTR must be a Candian thing.

Also somewhere here stated the spring numbers.
With my 2010 (2009s have different springs), I have the Standard Tow and have 2 full size leaf springs, with an additional smaller helper spring for a total of 3 springs. Somewhere I read that some none tow package trucks only get 2 leaf springs with no helper. If that's so, they never mentioned it in the packages and why the tow models are higher in the rear end, with more rake.

Only 1205 lbs . Do you have most of the available options?? Does that include a hard tonneau cover??
My XLT Sport Trac 4WD 4.6L 3 valve truck was 1288 lbs (1218 lbs with 70# Ford Factory Hard Folding tonneau cover). It's only options were the tonneau cover, premium wheels/tires, power seat, (standard for 2008)power rear window, side steps, and tow package. The Limited which was the lux version, dropped down to about 1100 lbs when optioned high.
