New here with 2010 XLT Crew 4x4 5.4L
New here, just found this site when researching F150s. I previously had a 2008 Sport Trac with the 4.6L 3 Valve V8 with the 6R60 6-Speed Auto. Had the tow package and appearance package, along with the Ford hard folding tonneau cover.
I now have the 2010 Ford F150 XLT Crew Cab 4X4 5.4L with 3.55 Limited Slip. It has the Tow Package, Convience Package, Driver's Package, Sync Package and Ford Chrome Side Steps.
Great truck, I drove 3 new trucks to make sure I picked the right one. I drove a 2010 Super Cab with same options but with the 4.6L 3 Valve V8 and 3.55 Limited Slip axle. I also drove a 2011 Crew Cab with the same options but with the 5.0L 4 Valve and a 3.55 limited Slip Axle. I came away liking the 2010 5.4L the best . You can read about my test drives HERE.
So far this truck is great. The transmission is smoother than the Sport Tracs, even though the torque converter is the only difference. I really like the instant power on demand you get with this truck next to the smaller displacement V8s, where you have to build up the power.
So far I am extremely impressed with this truck, really really nice. I also love the true All Terrain Michelin tires. The 2011's only came with Good Year All Season although they were suppose to be All Terrain. If there would had been a 2011 Ecoboost truck available, I most likely would had liked that drivetrain best as it offers more power at low rpms.
Here's to hoping to learn a lot from you guys. First thing I learned here was not to get an Extang Solid Fold Tonneau cover. You guys seem to have all kinds of leaks with it, which is exactly what I don't want. I went through that with a Pace Edwards Rolling Tonneau Cover on my late 2004 Nissan Titan XE Crew Cab 4WD Off Road Truck. Truck and Tonneau were garbage.
Talk you guys soon.

Welcome and congrats, Did you not try a 2011 5.0? O and here's a little f150's lingo for ya...crew cab= supercrew or commonly referred to here as a screw. Crew cab's are on the superduty, dodges, cheby's etc.
And I would recommend the bakflip, love mine..hard tonneau cover that folds out of the way, use it all the time, works great.

I actually was going to get a Extang Solid Fold until I found here, that they leaked. I've read some iffy reviews on the BAK tonneau and if getting it, I would get the Ford Accessory version as it's said to have hardware made directly for the F150 that's better than BAKs universal hardware. I don't like the water tubes as I had problems with a Pace Edwards leaking everywhere and it relied on water tubes as well.
We use the bed alot and a soft rolling tonneau would be more convenient so I'm going to get the Extang Express as reviews pretty much say it's about the most water tight tonneau out there.
BTW, I knew the lingo but I like using universal descriptions. You know a quad cab, double cab, super cab is really an extended cab.

Thanks for the comments.
Thanks. As for the leveling, not a fan of that as I like to load the bed and hitch.
Leveling a truck makes the rear squat when using it as a truck. My previous Sport Trac was level but I think the spring rates were set up to accomidate it. BTW, the F150 rides much better than the Sport Trac and I have a feeling it's due to the Spring rates of the F150.
Have a good one.
