Unhappy seat heater problem

the driver's seat heater in my 2010 Lariat has suddenly quit working. When I press the button it lights up for just a second and then turns off. The passenger side works fine. I haven't monkeyed around with any wiring or anything. Anyone else had the same issue or know what I can check myself?

No but I would check the air filter for the heated seats. The manual should tell you where the filter is. I am not sure if there is one filter for both seats or one for each seat. Good luck!

Is this supposed to be a joke? What air filter for the seats?

These trucks don't even have a cabin filter. Why would they have a seat heat filter?

I just checked my manual again and it says for climate controlled seats there is an air filter located under each front seat. The manual says to access the filter make sure the seats are all the way up and forward for easy access from the rear foot well area. My 2010 FX4 is equipped with these filters, I don't know about yours.

It just seems too far fetched to be true, but I just read my manual and sure enough, climate controlled seats have a filter that needs changed periodically.

I guess I should be reading my manual in more detail.

My drivers side quit working 1 year ago which the dealer had to order parts to fix and 3 days ago my passenger seat quit working. I don't think its a filter because when this happens the air conditioning function still works (only if you haven't already tried the heated function).

Same deal with my seat, driver's side. If I start with the cold setting first, it'll run and run and run. But if I start with the heat first, it will run for about 10 seconds, click, and turn off the light. I can hear the fan kick in, die, and then the light shuts off. After this the light whether hot or cold, will only illuminate for 2 seconds and shut off. Dealer has seen the issue but wants to keep the truck and screw with it to fix it. I'm waiting for someone to figure it out before multiple attempts of ripping my seat out to troubleshoot.

Unfortunately I don't remember what was done to fix it. I believe a module under the seat but not sure. Let us know how it goes. I'll be taking mine back in again for my passenger seat shortly.

thanks for all the replies. After the initial filter debate, I had begun to think that too many volcano tacos from Taco Bell were to blame

I guess I'll have to screw up a day off to sit at the dealership and find out what is really wrong. I'll let you know what I find out.

My 2010 did this when it was brand new but before I could take it in it began working properly on it's own. That was 10 months ago.

The filter is for the cooled seats part.
