Will the 06 Ford Bed Extender fit 2010?

I was test fitting an 06 Bed Extender on my 2010 today from a guy that was selling on Craigslist.

The mount holes looked like it would work but he didn't have the mount screws to know for sure.

Problem is, looked like my bed is a couple inches wider than the Extender will reach.

Has anyone made this work?

I kept the extender from my 2004 and it fits just fine. I also kept the mounting bolts that self tap the existing holes. I did however have to buy the plastic inserts that the locks pop into...Make sure that it was not a step side 06. Those were a different size width.

Absolutely. I bought a 2010 Lariat and found a guy that gave me his bed extender off of a early 2000 model F150.

I had to buy the mounting hardware ($40.00) but if fit great. And that was after I put in a spray in bed liner.

Do the self tapping mount bolt strech the Extender somewhat into place?

The thing I noticed that the locking pins on the Extender weren't long enough to reach both holes in the pickup box. It was one side or the other. Do the inserts stick out some.

Ford still sell the mounting hardware?

Thanks for you help!

I did this couple weeks ago. As long as the extender was for a flare side then good to go. I ordered the hardware from tasca for lilke $40. I can post the part numbers later when I get home. I have pics of it too

I got an '06 bed extender on Craigslist for $35. Bought the self-tapping bolts from Ford for about $15. Installed on my '09 without any issues.

Be sure to tap those bolts straight so you don't get anything funky with the threading, but it was super easy to do.

$35...What a deal, now I think I may be paying too much.
$200 without the mounting hardware.

Here are the exact parts you need:
W707381-S900 (2) Bolts
YL3Z-84286A54-AA (4) bushings

Ordered from Tasca $38 shipped.

I just fit an 06 bed extender on my 2010. I like the look a lot better than the new bed extender.

This thread has been at sleep for some time, but I have a question:
How the two W707381-S900 bolts screw? on my truck the middle whole on each of the columns is smaller than the one above and below it and is not threaded.
Am I missing something on the inside of the column to which the bolts are supposed to screw?

the 2 center holes are for the bolts. the top and bottom holds are just push in plastic inserts that the pin goes into for holding it in place.

I think $200 is way overpriced for an old bed extender off of CL

I ended up buying the new style for $100. After using it for a good while now I'm glad I got it. Really like how it folds out of the way.
