Black Headlights

Wanting some headlights for a 2010 Black FX4, but don't want to pay 500 bucks for the Harley heads (I have the HD tails already).

If you have pics of smoked, black projector, Harley Davidson, or any other aftermarket headlights for an 09-10 model F150 please post them!! Thanks in advance

No pics but check out some of the F250 diesel sites (powerstrokenation, powerstroke.org, etc) a number of guys have customized their stock headlights by "cooking them" and taking the lense off , painting the desired color and then gluing back together. There is usually a how to thread to follow.

The problem with most of the aftermarket lights out for our trucks is that they just look like crap IMO. The absolute best option is the Harley headlights but they are pricey for sure. That's what I'm going for when I get ready to purchase some.

I think ours are sonic welded together so it's pretty hard to do. Don't quote me on this.

I have a black FX4 and I put Saber Sport Halo Headlights on my truck and it makes the front look very agressive looking. Check out the pictures in my garage to see them..

08FX4- its a matter of opinion if the aftermarket lights look better than the stock lights or not, i have halo's i got off of ebay for 250 and their very good quality, brighter than stock and a hell of allot cooler looking. i would recommend them to anyone.

Wrong. I've done it. Our tail lights are sonic welded together, not the headlights.

Those look nice, were they a direct replacement of the stock heads, or did you have to do a bunch of wiring, etc.

SportractoF150,

I would like to know more about the process of separating the headlights. Is there another thread on this where you have pics or any info? Myself and lots of others are interested in doing this.

Well since there is interest, let me clarify then. I have done this process personally, but not on my F150; I did it 2 years ago on my sport motorcycle. For that process, I put the headlights in the oven for about 10-15 minutes until the sealant was soft and able to be pried apart. Then I did the work, and resealed it.

BUT, if you look at my current thread posted about 4 threads below this one, you can see that I have had my 2009 F150 headlights modified as well. If you want specific information on how to do this, please contact Rich at HID Illusionz (google, or go to my thread for a link). He is the one that did the actual work on my headlights; he did take the headlights apart, paint the insides, and reseal them back together. I'm sure he would be more than happy to assist anyone in how to properly separate the lights.

Yes they are a direct fit . Its a trure plug&play set up . I got them off flee-bay from Saber Sport. The Halo comes on with the marker/running lights and the low beem projector lights through a nice wide/far beem of light and the high beem are incredible they are super bright and light up the road great. The headlights come with the low/high beems already installed all you have to do is clip in you turnsignal light. I replaced my turnsingal bulb with a chrome bulb that lights up Orange I got that from Stang Mods.
