Link to youtube video. Easy as pie. Just did it myself in about 5 minutes. Need a 6mm socket, an 8mm socket, and a small thin flat tip screwdriver.

Yes, the FX4's have puddle lamps, and the 2010 have the convex mirror in the corner of the driver's side mirror.

Now for my question: I have a 2010 Lariat with the auto dimming plus heat power mirrors that are non-power folding. I have 2 sets of power folding mirrors that my friends want me to sell. One I'm probably going to keep, and want to know if all I need to do is get the memory seat flashed. I've just taken off the door panel, and I have wires to all of the pins for the mirrors, which is a little different than those that have the Max Tow/Tow mirrors.

One day I will have enough time and money to make my tow mirrors power fold!!! I've done crazier things

Hey Ford get you head out of your 5th point of contact. Why do you make the little dinky regular mirrors power fold and the big Dumbo ones let hang out there like big johnson hangin in the wind. Major FAIL

I went with the Platinum power fold mirrors, you had in the classified section but from looking at the pics, I was wondering why they didn't have that convex mirror in the corner like the FX4s you mentioned, is that do to the auto dimming feature?

You mention soemthing that concerns me a little. Do the max tow trucks not have all the pins in the harness. I was under the impressions all I would need to make them power fold would be the switch and reflash. Not a huge deal even if they never power fold, since they are so much smaller and easier to manover in and out of the garage, but would probably buy the switch and have the reflash done if I knew that would make them power fold.

I am not sure if its been so long since I owned a Superduty with the TT mirriors or what, but everytime I have driven my Platinum since I got it a couple weeks ago, I have found the TT mirriors to be sort of distracting, trying to find the right point to look to see what I am wanting to see behind me.
I am sure I would get use to it, but between trying not to bang them into anything, and finding a comfort zone with them, I just have not really cared for them much.

I also think the regular mirriors look alot better on the truck. I did some measuring too and it seems the regular mirriors are set in about 3"s more per side then the TT mirriors at there in possiotion, making a total of half foot overall narrower truck.

If I still owned a camper or an inclosed trailer, I would definately leave them on there, but since all my trailers are open trailers and all but one are about the same width as the truck, I just preffer the regular mirriors myself. If I had a need for the TTs I would definately keep them.

Smile power fold mirrors

Mgil
question about your mod to add power folds. You really didn't use a relay? That is awesome and makes it alot easier. If the wire for #4 on the switch plug is present do you tap into that wire or remove it completely?
thanks for the help

http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=811275

i would have bought a max tow but didnt want the big mirrors sticking out. might need them when towing but not the rest of the time. could see them being a real hassle in parking lots and drive thrus

sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
Just tap into it and run it up to #16 on the drivers mirror
