Question Help with Clearance Light Install

I ran into a small problem installing the Recon LED clearance lights and need some help with the wiring. I spliced the clearance lights into the violet/white wire coming out of the headlight switch and everything works perfect EXCEPT when I put the headlight switch in "Auto" mode. When in auto, the clearance lights always stay on and will not turn off. If the switch is not on "Auto" they work fine (come on with the parking lights and go off when the switch is off).

Any thoughts on how to make this work with the Auto headlights? Is there a different wire I need to splice into?

Thanks for the help!

Once you finish this up, post some pictures of the install.

I'm heading out to rewire now, so let's keep our fingers crossed!

Pics will be posted after that. I know that clearance lights aren't for everyone on the 1/2 ton, but I think they look great!

X2. I'd really like to see some pics too. I'd probably do it, but I really don't want to drill holes in my roof and take down the headliner. I bet they look good though.
