Finally made a decision yesterday

I decided to go with a tuxedo black Platinum 4X2 yesterday. After looking at the advantages and disadvantages between a 2010 Platinum 4X2 and a 2011 FX2 for me, the Platinum won. I bought it from Bartow Ford and I can see why they have won so many President's Awards. It was a very pleasant experience. I will for sure deal with them again. No pics yet but it looks no different than all the stock Platinum because that is what it is - stock. On the drive home the "lie-o-meter" got as high as 20.6mpg. That is a good sign. It will take a little bit of time to get used to about 250 less hp and over 500 less ft/lb's of torque than what I had with my F250 but I will be able to live with it. The interior is the nicest I have ever had and I have had a lot of vehicles over my 44 years of driving and owning in the neighborhood of 80 some cars and trucks.
Now I have to spend some time today trying to figure out the Sync/Sony Navigation system and all the cool things it can do.

You will love it. I too went from a F250 diesel to my FX4 and couldnt be happier. I thought I would be dissapointed when I hooked up my boat fot the first time but I was pleasently suprised. The sync is overwhelming at first but very easy to learn everything it does. Congrats and get some pics up so we can see it.

Congrats on the new ride. I am also currently driving a diesel, but it is more truck than I usually need. I hear you on giving up that much power--I have my diesel turned up to @ 500 hp at the wheels.... lot of fun to drive, but not really needed.

btw, what engine does your new ride have?

My new truck has the trailer brake controller option and I will only tow once a year with it. Hauling my bike and Mustang up to Michigan in August (about a 3,000 mile round trip for me).

I have the 5.4l with 3.55 limited slip.

Got some wax on it, sprayed the third taillight with Niteshade, removed the Flex Fuel emblem and mounted my under the tailgate Recon led light bar today.

I'll get some pics of it tomorrow.

Oh yeah, I also installed the obligatory Roush Racing and Harley Davidson decals on the rear window.

OK...OK.... Here y'all go:

Yanked off the stock antenna and used one from my Harley Davidson-

Side shot - grass took a beating during last week's hard freeze.

Rear showing the Recon LED lights and Niteshade 3rd taillight mod-

The antenna is a stock Road Glide antenna. I took it off my Harley because I added a tour pack and it was too long. It was just sitting with my Harley "take offs" and I couldn't stand the looks of the stock antenna (way too tall). I was going to just shorten the stocker but figured I would try the Harley ( you need an antenna adapter -stud) first and the reception is as good as the stock antenna.

Of the 3 black vehicles I own this will actually be the most forgiving with the metalflake. If Harley made a black Screamin Eagle CVO Road Glide in 2009, it would have been black, too! My two favorite colors - black and chrome!
