hands free not working
hands free not working
My hands free for my phone in my truck is not working. When I press the phone button on the dash nothing happens. Anyone have any answers that could help me fix it?
Its a 09 fx4 with sync

I don't think mine speaks anything when I press the phone button either.
I press the speak button, "phone", call "whoever". When I press the phone button, the display changes to a phone menu that looks to be waiting for manual input.
? I figured it was normal.

Push the media button on steering wheel and the sync voice should come on. Then say "phone." Do you have a little circle like icon on your radio to show your phone is linked? If not maybe you need to link your phone again.

Not sure what you mean by nothing happens when you push the phone button??
I don't get a voice prompt when I push my phone button (neither on the wheel or the dash) but the display changes to 'phone.'
If I then press the speak button, I'm prompted to say something.
Remember... a quick press and release of the phone button answers a call (or puts the system into phone mode)... a press and hold disconnects a call.
If yours doesn't bring up the phone menu with a quick push of the phone button, take it in for service.

You don't have to have a phone paired or connected via bluetooth for the phone menu to display.
If all the other SYNC menus work, short of pulling the SYNC fuse and rebooting the system and/or checking to be sure your SYNC firmware is up to date, I can't think of any other route to follow except back to the service department for repair.
Well if neither phone button (on the wheel or on the dash) brings up the phone menu display, then chances are, there is a problem with your SYNC system.
