Sorry guys, I went to pick up some Black eggcrate today and they were out of stock(of course), so the alternate experiment will have to wait a week or so...again, I will post pics, once complete.

Ok folks...here's the plastic egg crate version(top three photos)...which one do you like better? It's hard to tell in the pics, but the egg crate is also 1/2" or so deep where the steel is flat stock. I'm kinda leaning towards the bigger wholes in the steel version, but I like them both ...so, what will it be....plastic or steel? btw, they were both the same price, about $8 ...thanks for your input!

I like the one with the bigger squares much better. I think it is more proportional to the FX4 grill. Both look great though! Nice DIY! I think it's always more gratifying when you put your labor into something.
