Thanks fellas... Actually talked to a guy tonight at a restaurant that had on a Ford shirt from another dealer. He said he had 1 2010 FX4 left and told me I could have it for $500 above invoice plus incentives. This was right in the damn restaurant. Got his number and calling him tomorrow. I'll keep everyone posted. Thanks again guys

I just bought a 2010 Lariet 4x4 @ $9600 off sticker. If you don't get at least 20% plus off the sticker then go to the next dealer. When going to the next dealer, do not tell them you are trading. Go to Edmunds.com to research what invoive is and what your trade is worth. You should get 22 -24% off sticker and a good price for your trade but settle on the selling price first then pose the question about your trade. They need vehicles off the lot by January 3rd to avoid interest payments. Do not let a salesman take advanage of your inexperience.

You can do better than that. No leftover 2010 vehicle should be bought at one penny over invoice.

True. I have my dealers at Invoice less $5500. Truck invoices for $46,308 and they are taking $5500 in rebates off of that. And then adding back in $5500 for the lift, wheels, tires, flares, tint, and installation (which originally was at $9000).

It's been a long time coming but I've finally done it. Signed the papers to night and pick her up tomorrow. Already planning 2" level with 35's and a ranch hand grille guard. Took some quick pics with the iphone but will get better ones tomorrow.

actually this was the one I originally wanted. Things ended up working out after all. The other one from the other dealer was nice but it was your basic FX4 (no leather, etc.). I'm pretty excited. Ended up with a good payment. Probably could have been better but it was a better payment then I was expecting so I went with it. This is a huge step up from a regular cab STX! I'll give more details after I post up some good pics. Could be a couple days I don't pick it up until tomorrow after work so it will be dark again.

Congrats! Sharp looking rig, I just hope you were able to get them to come way off. Some great comments on this thread about buying new vehicles....

1.) Never negotiate on payment
2.) Work the new vehicle then talk trade
3.) Always have competition (I talked with 4 different dealers)
4.) They need you a whole hell of a lot more than you need them

All you gotta do is show the salesperson something they hate to see.

They hate to see the back of your head as you are walking out the door without making a deal.

Tell them you are going elsewhere and C-ya. Leave them your contact info tho, cuz it's guaranteed if someone doesn't come up with the cash, they'll be calling you.

My salesperson called me 6 times after showing him the back of my head. (Twice)

They kept insisting that I take a test drive. I didn't until they came down to what I could afford.

I also took paperwork from other dealers with me to flaunt and prove that I was serious about buying a new truck.
