Bilstein 5100 ?'s

Ok guys, I read alot about how wonderful these shocks are and performed a number of searches, but did not quite find the info. I needed. I am looking to add the 5100 series to level out my FX2 but I still have a couple questions I could use some help with.

1. If I set the front shocks at one notch(say the 2" lift notch) and then decide to move it up to 2.5" notch could I perform this while the shock is still mounted in the truck? ...and if so, would I need another alignment?
2. how would you compare the ride to the stock shocks...same, stiffer, smoother, etc...

Thanks in advance...

1. You will need to take the shock back off the truck to change the height setting. Not sure about the alignment. I left mine at stock ride height when I had them put on so didn't need an alignment.

2. I had the 5100's on my '04 Lariat and they felt stiffer to me. I was fine with them being a bit stiffer. They really helped to keep the rear end planted when crossing railroad tracks, etc. The truck didn't feel like it would lean as much going in to corners.

Thanks for the feedback Hammer...

Anyone else want to share their perception of the ride compared to stock?

It feels pretty close to stock. It is hard to make an accurate assessment because at the same time I went from 32" street tires to 35" Nitto Terra Grapps...but I love the new set up.
