Engine Randomly Turns Off

I have had this truck since March and I love it. 2010 SCAB XLT with the 5.4L, 2WD. Starting in September however the engine will randomly shut off. At first it happened to my wife on a road trip, she stopped for gas after about 300 miles and turned the engine on, realized she forgot to do something turned it off and 30 seconds later tried to turn it back on and it wouldn't. For an hour all it would do was crank the engine when she turned the key, but it would not ignite. Finally after an hour it came back on. This happened a couple more times over the course of her trip, although not as severe.

After she gets back I take it to the local dealership and explain the problem and of course they could not duplicate (CND) it. Took it back and over the next couple of weeks it continued to either refuse to start, or randomly shut of when going under 20 mph. I took it back and demanded they fix it, and after having it a week they replaced the fuel control module, and fuel pump. It hadn't had problems for over a month and a half, and twice in the last two weeks it has turned off while I was idling after filling up the truck, while I was writing down the gas info.

Any ideas on what this could be? Anyone ever experienced this problem?

Thanks for the help.

Could be a PCM issue, throttle body issue or throttle position sensor....sounds to me like if everything is working fine and it is a random issue you probably have an electonic issue in the PCM or a sensor that is randomly not working.

I would take it to a different dealer and have a set of fresh eyes look at it. A new $35K vehicle should not be having those issues and I would demand it be fixed.
