I just bought my new truck; 2010 F150 SCrew XLT. My first NEW vehicle since 1973! I have been reading the F150 Forums and have picked up a lot of good information. I have already made the mirror reflector to LED modification.

I plan to install an aftermarket backup camera/monitor system, but I want to able to switch between normal use and a manual on demand, so I can monitor my trailer loads, etc. It's a low sided tilt bed. I figure if I parallel the power connections for the camera and the monitor into a switch, between the normal B/U light power and a switched alternate source, I can do this without having the backup lights come on when in forward gear. (See diagram) At least I think it will work?

Feel free to blow holes in my design, suggestions welcome! I am not very good with electrical stuff...

Where would be a good place to get the alternate power connection?
