Will factory 4WD blocks work with a 2WD?

Will factory 4WD blocks work with a 2WD?
I know alot of guys who lift their 4x4s replace the factory blocks. So im curious if those factory rear blocks will work with a 2wd without the blocks from the factory. In addition, if they will work, Im looking for a set too. Thanks everyone!!
