2010 or 2011 STX Supercab 4x4

I am seriously considering a 2010 or 2011

What I am curious (since I have never bought a vehicle brand new from a traditional dealer) is what am I looking at for a fair price on a 2010 or 2011 STX Supercab 4x4? Anyone purchase any recently and if so, what kind of deals have you been seeing?

I am contemplating whether or not to offer up my current truck as a trade, mainly because I would like to keep it and being an XL I am going to get screwed in the trade.

I am leaning towards the 2010 because of the deals due to the 2011's coming out soon. Also, looks like, for the STX's, I will have to have the dealer aquire one from elsewhere because none of the locals have any (they're all xlts and fx4s). Anyone with any experience with that?

besides the new engine i think the differences are minor.

i know the fog lights, power windows and power locks are standard for 2011. i was looking at 2010 stx stickers and the power locks and windows are an option. the sticker price for a stx where i live is like 32-35K. i can get a load fx4 for 41k...of course thats just going by the sticker

Then they will KNOW you want it. How far are you willing to travel?

I'd prefer to stay within WI, mainly because of the way their personal property taxes and stuff work.

I had a relative purchase a car outside of Wisconsin, and they got both raped by that state's sales tax as well as Wisconsin's personal property tax.

I've seen two or three matching what I am looking for. Closest one is about 175 miles away...

I'll probably just keep lurking until one shows up at a local dealer. I'm not in a hurry, but the 2010s are pretty cheap right now...

175 miles is not that far away... the 2010s will not be around much longer if they act like when I bought my 2008 new in Dec 08.

You should NOT have to pay the other state's sales tax - you get a waiver. All you should have to pay for (depending on the state) is something like a 10 day cardboard driveaway tag to get it home and registered. Then you pay Wisconsin's sales tax to the DMV when you register it. There's no way out of Wisconsin's personal property tax if you are a resident of Wisconsin, no matter where you buy the vehicle.

I'm going in Tuesday after work to test drive a 2010 STX 4x4 Supercab at a dealership nearby. They have the truck listed at 28xxx. I am hoping I might be able to get that down a bit further. The MSRP was 35xxx. Think they'll go lower, or is 28 a good deal? Again, never bought a new car before, not sure how this all works.

You should be able to buy the truck at or below invoice, got my XLT for around 1000 under invoice. Then take off the 6500 in rebates and hopefully you can lock up good financing or pay out right for it. I also got 1500+ over excellent bluebook on my car. You may even look for an XLT, get a few more options if that is important to you. There are still a ton of 2010's on the lot. I was out the door TTL 27k @ 3.49 through Ford. I probably could have done better, but I was happy and I was well under my target number for the truck, but my expenses are minimal,no wife and no kids for now.
