how to locate trucks (with specific options)

i am looking for a FX2 in silver or white or red candy with back up sensors, 20'' wheels and the sony 700 watt system.

the dealer i was talking to only said there were 3 out there, one in each color but all over 300 miles away.

i tried looking on the Ford site, but it doesnt recognize FX2 as a model. just XLT's and FX4 and all the others.

anyone know the best way?

Have you checked out Cars.com? That's how I found exactly what I was looking for at a dealership over 100 miles away.

It allows you to pick the style F-150 and color and how many miles you want to search from your zip code. I just looked and see that FX2 isn't one of the styles you can choose (not sure why). But, you can still pick 2wd and the colors you want, then just quickly scroll through the results by looking at the pictures for FX2's. Once you see that, you can click on that model and see if it has those options you want.

It sounds like the same truck my brother wants but he is also adding the 6.5 bed as a must and he is just about out of luck finding that.

Sorry. I just tried it myself for you using my brothers zip code just south of Nashville and it looks like none of your area dealers put pictures up on Cars.com. All of the ones around me do and it made it so much easier looking for a truck.

I don't know if this will help but the FX2 is a package that is available on the XLT, not a separate model like the FX4. So maybe search under the XLT's and look for FX2's or 4x2's.
