The spring perch on the 4x4 strut assembly sits 1" higher than that on the 4x2.

As for the part #'s, Ford uses 18124 for the front struts and 18125 for the rear shocks on ALL the F150's dating back as far as I cared to look. I was told that that number is just their code for shocks and struts. It's the letter/number code after the 18124 and 18125 that differentiate the different shock.

What the parts guy did when I bought my FX4 shocks was he got the VIN number from an FX4 on the lot and used that to find the specific p/n.

2010 FX4 Premium shocks
Front = p/n AL3Z-18124*GA
Rear = p/n AL3Z-18125*H

I believe it is all 4x4's. But again, the part number for a standard XLT 4x4 shock may be different than that of the FX4, Raptor, and so on. Depends on engine size too I believe.

The parts guys said there were like 4 or 5 sub-numbers for the F150 4x4 shock.

Did the dealer parts guy give you any grief for wanting to put the 4wd shocks on your 2wd?

Where did you get your slightly bigger rear block at? It's aftermarket right?

 

Nah, he may have grumbled a bit though because it was raining out when he went to get the VIN off the FX4, haha, but no, he knew where I was going with the purchase.

As far as the rear block, I'm not 100% but I think its a ProComp block. I gave the guys at Maui Offroad the stock block to put on but I told them if after they get the front spacer/struts on and the feel the stock block wouldn't be enough to go ahead and put a bigger block in. He did an even swap for the stock block.

BTW, I've read a few post here that say the stock block measures 1 5/8", it was actually closer to 1 1/4".

 

Here's mine, just finished adding; a AS 1.5" Level Kit and Rear Blocks, PTM Tow Mirrors and Bedliner.

 

Nice! This just answered my question to you on your other thread. 1.5" AS. Any chance getting a quick pic of one of your upper ball joints. I'd like to compare the angles to that of mine.

Ok. I figured they were stock. It looks really good. A larger tire would be nice but it actually still looks good with the stock setup. Anyone wanna trade 18" Fx2 wheels for 20" wheels?
