Bug Deflector Question

I'm looking at getting the Ford bug deflector (9L3Z-16C900-A) and had a question for those who have it...and suppose that the same question would apply to other brands as well. Has anyone had any issues with rust forming underneath where it mounts under the hood? Seems like I recall reading something about it somewhere and could see how water could get trapped running down the hood and then in between the deflector and hood. Thanks,

Mike

There are other options out there, other than the Ford bugshield.I believe both Auto Ventshade, and Stampede now make models that mount from the underside of the hood rather than clamp between the hood and the grille surround the way the Ford bugshield does.

pretty sure the hood is aluminum so rust is nto really an issue.
had a factory bug deflector on my '04 for 7 yrs and never had an issue with rust.
took it off for hte first couple winters. but left it on year round after that...
