2009 PLAT - Time for some changes.

So.. i have about 40K on the truck. It will be two years old this coming FEB 13th. I have two tires that are bad ( hard radial pull and bad out of balance condition. ) So i am -

Replacing the tires- Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor 285-60-20
Replacing the shocks- Bilstein-5100's
Installing Edge Programer

The tires, well unless you live where there is no snow. or hardly ever rains. They would be great.

The shocks- I could possibly get warrantied out . along with two tires. But i dont have the time to wait for all the "they dont seem that bad or, we cant find any issue with shocks or tires)
I was told two tires were prolly bad. Might try to get 'replaced' and or just sell them.
Shocks- might try to get new ones. and just either keep for other projects and or sell those.

Programer. Im not all for super go go fast speed. but truck does need a bit more pep.
I have had issues with the truck. no starts, gage cluster stopped working, ect. dealership where i take it said no problem with programer.

I will probably only go 1in to 1.5 in of lift on front? what is everyone elses opinion , should i just do the full 2 to almost level?
everyone have a good week.

Good luck with the mods. FWIW, you could've saved ~$100 on the shocks from other websites.

I plan on 1.5in lift in front. with 285.60.20 measurements as it sits now. i should not have rub. but a llittle insurnace would be good.

shocks did not show up. they never called. i had to call them, actually got the same guy i ordered them with. he said ccard did not work. well. used it before i called him on programer , and it worked there. he re-ran. went through fine.

also--- programer was USED. cable from edge to odbII port was smashed in 2 places. shoudl have looked more closely. when i got there. took off outer box, seal was broken. noticed cables in box, sticker. manuals. ect. and windsheild mount. had my son with , he was getting heavy. so , back home i went.

took to owners home close to me ( they had me do that so they could re-order and ship. i drove about 1.5hrs round trip to get it.

should be here tomorrow along with shocks. then tires later on this week.

eshocks seemed like the cheapest place. called shockwarehouse, said they would call back. even emailed. nothin. looked at a couple other places. and eshocks was on here where others had ordered from. i thought that was resonable.

ill put up picks when i am all done. everyone have a great week

Got programer in today. Set to level 3 - nothing changed in stock tune from EDGE.

I had 10 miles to go when i goto work today( cant beleive my plan worked out ). installed tuner and drove .5mile to fill up with 91oct BP

what a difference in shifting both up and down. throttle response is what it should be and feels like my 99 with actual cable fed throttle body.

i have not got on it yet.. ill probably wait a tank before i let her have it. im sure eventhough the comptuer was tuned. it might want to hang out with its new tune a while!

Ill get shocks installed tomorrow night. take some pics. and then also take pics with tires on..

have a good week.

Got all of the shocks in last night. Started on the fronts cause we knew the backs would be the easiest.

We did have a heavy duty spring compressor. started to compress. and stopped. Took it down to the farm and fleet . shop

their strut compressor almost didnt hack it either. and its air over hydro.

all back together. everything in . started on the backs. noticed when i took back shocks out of box. OIL.
one rear prolly lost at least 2oz oil, it was all in the boot. ill order another from eshocks.

i can tell you that with only 40 on truck. it was riding like crap compaired to what it is now.

need opinion- rear shocks, did the push in - pull out test. wow. are they supposed to stay in when pushed in. ? i know they should limit travel. but wow. have not realy played with fronts ( old shocks ).

i have them set as high as they go. a bit higher than the rear. im sure it will settle.
ill get pics up possibly later tonight.
