Strange 20" Pirelli tire question

My 2010 FX4 came with the stock 20" Pirelli tires when I bought it a few months ago. I'm just now noticing that the sidewall of the tires are starting to show a white colored ring around the outside of the tire, almost like what a faint whitewall tire might look like. My only thought is that the first rains were having around here might be causing the color change. It almost looks like I've been rubbing all four tires on a curb (I haven't!) and it's left a side wall mark/rub. Anyone else notice this?

I have the pirellis also, but am not having this issue, is it happening on both sidewalls or just the outside one?

I have the 20" Pirellis and they are ozone cracking within a year of use. Ford or Pirelli won't give me a full replacement on them because I didn't discover the problem till putting 25k miles on them. They all agree that it's a problem and they need to be replaced, but they're only willing to pitch in $450 for them.

$450 is better than nothing. I just spent almost $800 upgrading to Firestone Destination ST tires. Although I didn't have the problem you guys are describing.

I am trading mine in at discount tire for $600.00 store credit. That is if I dont sell my tire/wheel combo first. Discount tire is usually pretty good about giving a decent price on used tires.

I wouldn't have a problem with it if I was the one that was doing my own tire rotations, but I've paid my Ford dealership to do a tire inspection and rotation with each oil change at 5k miles. They should have picked up on that. Also, the worst cracking is on the inside of the tires, not the outside. I would have never even noticed if it wasn't for another member bringing it to everyone's attention.

IMO, Ford pulls each tire off to rotate them. They should do a full inspection on the tires, not just the tread depth, before they gave me the little green check on each evaluation sheet I got back.

Mine are just horrible if the pavement/concrete is wet.

But yeah thats about it. Nice during the dry times.
