2011 F150 Delivery

My new 2011 F150 Lariat is being picked for assembly tommorow. Assuming Ford has already started production has anyone taken delivery of a 2011 yet? Have any 2011 models been seen on dealers lots?

Everything I've gotten says the first run of trucks will show up at dealers by mid-late December. Did you get the 5.0 or 6.2 motor? Both are great drives, but you can't beat the sound of the 6.2. One of the better sounding Ford motors in a long time.

I got the 5.0L. I suspect with the 6speed tranny mods and the new motor it will be a pleasure to drive!

Have a Raptor crew on order, build date Nov 8, est delivery Nov 18. Delivery estimate seems tight though. According to Raptor-specific forums, most people have build dates (weeks, I think) of Nov 1, 8, or 15. Mine was ordered Sept 2. Earliest build date I've heard for anything is Nov 1.

The schedule I saw said production was to start Nov. 16th. I ordered mine on Oct. 6th but have no build date yet.

You will love the 5.0. I was very impressed with the power and sound of it. For the Base V8 motor, you can't beat it. I think all of the new engines are home runs, as I was impressed with each one. The 5.0 that I drove blows away any 5.4 I've driven, even with the 3.73 rear. The 5.0 they had to drive had a 3.55 rear I believe.

I drove the 6.2 Harley with 3.73 and a Ecoboost Platinum with a 3.73 and the 5.0 wasn't that far off.

The ecoboost does sound better under load (while towing). Actually sounds a lot like a Diesel.

KCAP Job 1 is Nov. 16. DPT is a little earlier but not much. There is usually a slow ramp up to full production and none are released to dealers until the engineers give the OK to ship.

Screwbuilder, I assume you work at KCAP? You'll see my FX2 weeks before I do...I'm jealous.

From the build-it website, it appears you cant get the 3.73. with the 5.0 unless you get 4x4, wtf is up with that? The default gearing is 3.31 and the only other option is 3.55
