New 2010 Lariat

Just traded my 2008 FX4 S/C for this baby. I needed the extra space with the new baby. I like the ride so far compare to the FX4 but cant wait to put some tune in to improve it even more. Do you guys think i should wait to break it in a bit before putting custom tune or its fine to do it right away? I have a sct and will get tune from vmp again.

Don't expect to get much as far as gains with the tuner. I have an SCT with custom VMP tunes. Other than the accelerator responding quicker, I can't notice much of a performance increase. I have a little bit of pinging in the upper RPM range also. Apparently Ford did not leave much for aftermarket gains with the 09's and 10's. This is probably why none of the tuning companies are showing dyno numbers either.

Congrats on the new baby (both of them). I used that excuse for buying mine too.

Did it improve shifting at all? I thought it was the best part of custom tunes. It made the truck so much more enjoyable to drive. Shifting is still a bit lazy in the new one.

Shifting was a little more firmer, but it did not hekp the 1-2 and 2-1 issues.
