Flex fuel badge removal ?

Has anyone removed the Flex fuel badge on the tail gate on a 2010. I want to know if there are ailignment holes in the tail gate. I would love to take the F150 badge off also but I am pretty sure there are holes for that.

...A great pre-cursor for the eventual removal of ecoboost badges too.

I am not sure, if anything you can heat it up, and run fishing line behind it, and try to cut between the adhesive, worst scenario is that there are prongs behind the badge, you either heat it up and push it back on, or remove it and replace adhesive. I would like mine gone to, becuase I dont plan on running any of that **** in my truck.

I took mine off with no problems. All I did was take a heat gun and heat it up a bit and then I took some fishing to take it off, the fishing line took off the badge part but left the adhesive foam. So I just heated the adhesive foam up and peeled it off fith my fingers. hope that helps.

Perhaps they'll do away with that badge for the EB equipped trucks in 2011. Seems like an awful lot of badges for one truck w/the EB one as well.

I used a hair dryer and some fishing line. Took 10 minutes.

^^ Same here. A little glue residue that came off with some elbow grease and soap.

Some folks have reported success with dental floss, but that didn't work for me.

Piano wire, or picture hanging wire will work as well. Just keep between the emblem and the foam adhiesive and you are fine. I took all the trim off a 2002 pickup that way. Worked good.

Most all badging is simply adhered to new vehicles today. Very few that I know of use alignment holes. There are locating fixtures on the assembly lines that put the badges in the correct place on the vehicle. Most use a 3M heavy duty two sided adhesive tape. The tape itself is not easy to remove from the painted surface of the vehicle. Any residue can usually be taken off pretty easily with Goo-Gone. I have also used, on glass at least for sticker residue, Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. I imagine it would work on the paint surface as well. These also work great for removing bugs from paint and glass.

I just pried mine off carefully.

No heat guns, no fishing line. Comes right off, no drama.

Thanks

ive de-badged everything ive ever owned. learned real quick that the F150 badges on the side have HUGE alignment holes. lol. not sure about the F150 on the tailgate though. the flexfuel comes off super easy. for badges i use a heat gun and a plastic puddy knife from the hardware store. its beveled so it slides right under the adhesive and will remove everything except the residue without scratching the paint. a lil aerosol goo gone takes care of that. be careful not to get the paint too hot with the heat gun.

The F150 on the tailgate does have holes and clips, it also has tape holding it on.
