Cool BakBox

Has anybody that has a Bakflip tried this BakBox? It would be nice to be able to tuck the toolbox away when you wouldn't need it.

Looking at getting one soon. CDN VS USD is almost par ... worth it now for me as I do have a friend in Buffalo where it can be shipped to. She will bring it over the border when she visits.

BAK has such great innovation. Its too bad their quality is sub-par. I sure wouldn't want to be one of the first to try one of their new products.

I tried asking about a group buy for us but they didn't get back to me. Not sure if I really need one anyways...

Its a good idea if you are only using it for groceries or don't mind leaving everything in it and open all the time, but it would be a pain to unload when and if you needed then entire bed (just like a normal tool box, which is probably why some of us have the Bakflip in the first place. I got a smaller toolbox I just leave in the bed with jumper cables, straps, ropes, small tool set and some other stuff. That way I can take it out and put it in my back seat or leave at home if I need the entire bed, to like move someone. I know it said something about being able to take the entire box out at once, but I didn't see that mentioned in the video.

Have an F1 and a Bakbox on order. Will be about 10 days and will report "bak" when installed.

Should have my F1 and bakbox installed by tomorrow afternoon (along with a bed mat and a rubber weather strip at the bottom of the tailgate area). Will report how it works out.

I really like the F1 bakflip and bakbox install on a 2010 Platinum. One thing to note is that there is about a 4" gap between the back of the bed and the back of the bakbox. Not a big deal. If I need that space, I can remove the bakbox. I am 6'1" and can easily get into the bakbox standing by the truck.

The tailgate is a little harder to open and shut but that has to do with the weather stripping. I took the truck thru a high pressure washer within an hour of install and had minimal water intrusion near the tailgate.

Very pleased. It looks terrific too. I hadn't made up my mind on a cover until I saw a 2010 Platinum with a topper that rested on top of the rails. It didn't look that great. The F1 looks terrific, just like it came from the factory.

I went to the hunting ranch Saturday with my boys, along with a lot of gear. It was great having the security of the cover and the storage capacity of the bakbox.
