whats it worth?
whats it worth?
hey guys need some input, i hav 2010 fx4 crewcab with leather, sunroof, rear camera, etc. with about 6,200 miles. thinking about selling, whats it worth and anybody interested, thanks for the help
If you do trade her in, let us know what you get for her. I have an '09 Platinum 4x4 fully-loaded I'd love to dump for a 2011 Plat w/EB myself; but where it's the same body-style and it has no MyFord Touch, I'll only do so if I can get a good deal on her. I never see anyone trade in any Plat's, so no real-world data to go by yet, unfortunately.
So good luck; and let us know what you get if you do trade her in.

Hi, I just traded my 2010 FX4 with 10300 miles on a 2010 Platinum, and I got $33450 for my trade-in. That is pretty high, and much more than kbb or edmunds showed, but it is always situational based. (they have it listed on their site now for $34950, which includes their $600 dealer fee, so they are trying to make about $900 - $1k on the truck)
My FX4 originally came with cloth, sync, no navigation, running boards, trailer brake control, and upgraded tires. I added aftermarket leather and navigation.
I really worked all of the dealers in my area, and even 60+ miles away to work out a deal on a new white FX4 loaded up, and the price on the new truck was pretty easy at this time (about 2 - 3% under invoice with some work). My focus was on the trade in to see if it was worth it too me. Some dealers offered 26k, 28k, 29k, and 30k for my truck, all over the phone.
Eventually I found a dealer, a large one with a lot of inventory, who was just jumping at the chance to move some of their 2010 inventory, and I asked for 32k for my trade, no less. They of course balked, and I went home. The next day they said OK. Of course while I was at the dealer I noticed a 2010 Tuxedo Black with Stone interior and just fell in love with the color combination. We worked out a price of 3% below invoice for the truck, and 32k for my truck. (approx 34.5k OTD with rebates and my trade) I said I would think about it and went home. The next day I called them back and offered them 33k OTD, and they accepted. (so I got an additional 1.5k on top of my trade).
Basically, if you are willing to wait and work, then you can get a great deal. Would I have liked to get a 2011, sure, but other than engine changes I didn't see anything else that would make me wait. (not to mention the massive amount of money I saved on a 2010 will buy a lot of gas!)
