Ball Joint at 42,000 kms?

Just got my tires rotated and mechanic told me that my drivers side ball joint was shot. I put a leveling kit and 33's on at about 32,000 kms, hopefully that didn't have anything to do with it. Have an appointment to get it replaced, my dealer has no issue with the leveling kit but I am just wondering if this is going to be a common problem for me down there road....when I have no warranty.
Unrelated my CS is showing that my transmission is getting up to a max of 186, would that have anything to do with the tires? I only went from a 275/65/18 to a 275/70/18? or do these tranny's just run hot?

I think they just run hot. There was some discussion in this thread with similar temps to what you have.

186 isn't hot. 225 is hot.
