I guess it can have slightly higher mpg without it.

Hill Descent Control

That's a bummer about the tank, but you'll still get over 600 miles per tank highway.

I just saw this link to the truck technologies you posted on the other board.

See the bottom right corner where they list Hill Descent Control!
The 2011 keeps getting better and better.

Base engine is the 3.6, the 5.0 is about $830 over that. If you get a 6.2 it is $1995 above the base engine. No price on ecoboost has been released.

Base price on a supercab xlt 4x2 with 145" wheelbase is $26868

(all info came from folks on blue oval forums that have already ordered )

I bet it's to have a better payload and towing capacity...

10 gallons less in fuel = More weight in the bed or trailer.

My guess is that it has something to do with the direct injection system. Course that is simply a guess.

Look at the low end torque the eco boost is putting out!

Regarding the cost, I'm guessing the $10-14K discounts we are seeing now will be long gone with the 2011 models. Get ready to pay up for that technology.

This time next year the discounts will be the same unless the economy improves and these things fly off the lots. Don't figure that will happen with the current climate.

I figure after all of the overly anxious people get their new trucks the prices will start to come down. I figure three to four months after the trucks hit the lots for those people to clear the system. If the economy hasn't improved much, the discounts will probably be pretty good come late spring or early summer.

Just take a look at the 2011 superduty.

Here in Canada we have huge rebate on them since they're out. We have over 10 000$ in rebate, depending on model.

Hmm, the Ecoboost 6th gear ratio is taller than all the others. Weird. A hint that Ford is trying for some milestone highway FE number.
