Tuner are getting 50whp to 60whp and 70ft-pd to 80ft-pd of torque at wheel right now with tuning only.

It would be nice to know the cost of the EB engine as well. I have no idea what to expect gas mileage wise but they are going to have to justify the extra cost somehow. Will this engine be slotted price wise between the 5 liter and 6.2?

 

Im very impressed with what Ford has released for the Ecoboost. It will be great once they start selling them and we can get some reviews of this new engine. Like others have said throw a few simple parts on these and you can have almost a 500hp truck for around 1k dollars in aftermarket goodies.

 

All indications have been that the ecoboost will carry close to the same price as the 5.4 it replaces. Nothing official yet though. Probably won't find out much about that until it is available.

 

This is going to put a hurt on the old "no replacement for displacement" excuse.

 

Not really, I wouldnt want to see the bill once these things start breaking. It's doubtful they will be able to hold up long term to any sort of heavy use like a truck does.

I will take the 5.0 thank you, i would hope they come up with a larger displacement of THAT motor and this is just a stopgap

 

Won't cost more then a rebuilt on a diesel.
