3.15 Ratio Regular Axle

My new truck came with a 3.15 ratio regular axle.

How does this compare with the other ratios available?

All I gotta say is - thank goodness fer that 4.17 first gear

You'll be running nice low rpms in 6th on the highway though

It limits towing some, and off-the-line grunt some, compared to the deeper ratios. No biggy. The torque spread of the 3V's will help a lot.

By "Regular" did you mean no Traction Lok? That may be a issue if you drive in conditons where it would be an advantage ....

Regular is how they list the open diffs. No LS and no locker.
