Test Drive

Test Drive
In June of 2009, I bought a 2009 Lariat SCrew 4X4. At the time, I noticed that the truck had nearly 500 miles on it. I asked the sales person why it would have that many miles on the truck. He did not know. However, I later found a small printed certificate stating that the truck had been randomly selected by the factory for a test drive. It must have worked because it has been trouble free since I got it in June 2009.
I have bought a lot of new cars and trucks over my lifetime and this was a first for me.
BTW, my other car is also an F-150 XLT SCrew 5.4. I sold my '99 F-150 SCab Flareside XLT to buy the 2009.
Ford trucks and Texas- hard to beat.

There have been several owners of the new Mustang GTs report that they had a few miles on the cars they ordered and they had the sticker indicating Ford tested them. The GTs were on "hold" for a month or so. It is good that Ford does this. They can test prototypese all day long and nothing compared testing actual production cars. Although, I'm glad both my F-150 and Mustang were not test subjects.

With 500 miles, there are other possibilities:
1. It came into stock as the result of a dealer trade - it was driven from the original dealer to yours.
2. It was used quite a bit for dealer demo drives and/or salesmen taking it home at night.
What is the build date as compared to the date you bought it?
