I took all the rebate money, then refinanced before making a payment 45 days later at 1.99% at my federal credit union and did not make a payment for 45 days later and still had less interest then making a payment on the original finance with FMC.

My dealer loans thru a local credit union. We financed our Escape and that's where they went thru with all their loans, we went ahead and payed it off when I sold my old truck.

I financed through FMC (@ 8.9%) to get the $1k off the MSRP. Before the first payment came due, I refinanced through my credit union at 3.49%.

My credit union was actually 1% higher (4.49%), but got them to match the other local credit union's rates.

Run the numbers on an amortization program. I've got a freebie application for my iPhone, so crunching the numbers only takes a few clicks...
