You have 3.73 gears and a locker apparently. Which makes sense seeing as how you have an FX4

Thanks..... I guess I suck at using search..
If I go to 35's Should I go up to 4:10's?
If so can I just change the ring and pinion out and keep the stock E-locker?

The difference between 3.73's and 4.10's is not significant enough to make it worth it. Don't sweat it - the 6 speed auto helps a lot at the low end.

All FX4's are 3:73 from the factory.

That new? That was not the case in any of the previous gen trucks.

Definitely with the 09 up and also I believe some years in the 04-08 range.
Also the 09 was the first locker, ergo the code L6.

Yeah Tried that!
http://www.fordf150.net/howto/decode.php NO L6 Listed
http://www.fordf150.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=45014 Same Link
http://www.drivetrain.com/parts_cata...s_it_posi.html No L6 Listed
http://www.ford-trucks.com/article/i...de_Chart_.html Again Not Listed
http://www.ford-trucks.com/article/i...r_Decoder.html Not Listed

I Found some that stated that "6" refered to 3.73 in some Fords but the 6 in others referred to 4.56 and I was fairly certain that wasn't the case.

and If you search L6 Axle you get 248 results cause L6 is omitted, and Axle Code returns 249 results .

Sorry if I wasted anyones time.

I agree it is not a huge difference but it will make a difference if he doesn't want his acceleration to change. He will go from a 3.73 to a 3.42, but if he did the 4.10's it would bring him back to 3.73.

You definitely need to get the computer programmed to the new size. That will allow the trannie to shift at the right spots. Otherwise, you could end up with transmission problems. Unfortunately, you will have to get a programmer as the dealer cannot program for other than OE size tires.
