Another Trip To Dealer - Another PCM

A few months back my truck went in for a check engine light and shifting problems. They replaced the PCM and an O2 sensor for the Check Engine light, which was also supposed to correct the shifting issue. Well it didn't. As time went by and 1,500 miles later the shifting issue worsened. This is a listing of what I provided them:

1. Shift Points Are Too Low - Truck barely moves from a stop and it shifts from 1st to 2nd. After about 30 feet it’s in 3rd. Another 50 feet and it in 4th and lugging.

2. When taking off from a stop a “thump” is heard and felt as if something is hitting the underside of the truck.

3. When truck shifts from 1st to 2nd there is a long lag, and it feels as if the transmission is slipping. Sometimes there is a “thump” sound as it shifts and the truck shutters.

4. At about 40 mph the truck will shutter and feel as if the transmission is going in and out of gear.

5. When I accelerate such as on an interstate on ramp, the transmission has a long lag time while downshifting before going into the lower gear. It also feels as if the transmission is slipping.

6. When making a left hand turn from a stop and the transmission shifts from 1st to 2nd while turning, the transmission and or rear differential feels as if they are slipping.

7. When coming to a stop, the truck shutters and feels as if it’s being nudged from the rear.

Took truck back in and this is what was written on the invoice when I picked it up:

"3687 Road test verified shift concern run OASIS found TSB 10-12-04 Tried to Recal PCM and TCM failed stating miss matched PCM Tried to run PMI programming failed stated miss matched PCM Tried to install as-built data Failed see line c after replacement of PCM recaled checked TCM calibration it is correct clear KAM for the TCM and perform reset drive Check shift points there are as out lined in the TSB part# recal code 42."

By this it appears when it was in before they put the wrong PCM in. I also haven't seen that TSB number before. Truck is shifting fine now.
