I installed a 2" AS front leveling kit, and my truck sits almost dead level. But when you put anything in the bed it squats! Big time! I also recently bought a 24' travel trailer. So after hooking up to the trailer it was very clear to me that I needed to do something in the rear. I chose a AS add a leaf. Very easy to install, took me about 1 hour. And man it makes a huge difference when towing! Honestly I can not feel any change in the way my truck rides. I will be getting a weight distribution hitch eventually. But as for now it tows good!The **** tow mirrors are also awesome! I think this transmission tows great!! It really loves to tow at 60 mph. enjoy!

Are you using a weight distributing hitch? It does not look like it. That's how you level the truck and trailer. My 28' trailer makes my truck look like your after AAL picture when I don't have the WD hooked up, just the tongue. When I hook up the WD, the back of my truck rises about 2", front lowers an inch, and everything is near level. Way better ride too.

 

Big improvement. Any reasoning as to why you chose the AAL route instead of a rear block?

I know I know. I will be buying a weight distribution hitch soon! All in time! The trailer weighs just under 4000#s. It pulls really good! I can't wait for the WD hitch! I chose the AAL because i like the fact that it adds more payload, it is pretty cheap, and in all honesty it is safer then a block. Yes my tires are Duratracs, 295/65/18's. I love em! i can't wait to test them out in the snow!

Yea, WD hitch is a must, otherwise steering is going to be a problem (not to mention headlight alignment). I'd suggest you're at or just over the tongue weight rating of the truck at the moment.

 

Id say your truck definitely needed the extra leaf spring. It looks alot better with it. I need to do the same to mine.

What model of **** mirrors are those, the 11800?? I have an 09 XLT pulling a Rinker 246 boat and really need to get a set of mirror extensions.

 

yes they are the 11800, they work great! I have always been told that blocks can cause axle rap. Not to mention that most of the blocks you buy today are aluminum. I prefer steel. dissimilar metals will corrode as well

 

Great looking truck. I did the 3" block after my AS install. No issues for 25k miles since I put it on. Pull a boat, jetskis and 20" ATV hauler. Agree about the WD hitch with a trailer that long. Witnessed a rollover with a truck w/o a WD hitch, fishtailed and it was over before he knew what happened.
