Hey guys im in the market for a tuner I have the 4.6 3v v8 and i will soon be changing tire size so i might as well pick up a tuner that gives me alittle more power and the ability to change or recal. my speedo. So the question is what tuner's are you guys using and how do you like them?

I have been in the market for a tuner for the past year. There are only a few options out there from what I have found I have gotten mixed reviews on all of them. Hypertech offers a programmer but I have not read one positive reveiw on that one, so id stay clear away from that one. Edge is dragging their feet and Im starting to wonder if they will ever come out with a tuner. Superchips has one but everyone on here bashes them but to me they seem like the only descent choice at the moment. Ive been over on their forums skimming through posts and I really havent found anything bad with the Cortex programmer.

Also there are several tuners who offer a SCT X3 but I have also read mixed reviews on those. The SCT is just a general tuner and it allow shops to load custom tunes on it. Some people have reported strange noises after installing these tunes. I know VMP, PHP, and Troyer all offer tunes but only a couple of people have used them. Other companies such as JDM offer tuning but I have read that people have had small issues with their tunes as well. They are big on the Raptor forums and you get mixed reviews.

The Superchips to me seems like the best bet. They have documented gains of what their tuner will give you and there a alot of positive reviews on it as well.

If you want custom tunes the SCT is available for a programmer. A lot of shops sell them and there's a few companies in my Sig that sell them and write custom tunes for them.
There are others out there but they only offer canned tunes with a few end user adjustments...........

Just got off the phone with Banks and they confirmed they have one in the making for the 09-10s. Like the Edge they have no release date. That Superchips Cortex looks promisiing!!
