- The max tow bumper/hitch is rated to tow an additional 1000 lbs.

- Job 2 2010 F150s dropped 4th leaf from max tow & 20's. Dealers say part # on max tow 3 leaf set-up is different from 3 leaf set-up in non max tow 18" 3 leaf set-ups. While it would be logical to assume the 20" 3 leafs are same as max tow(as they were before) its not confirmed. (clear as mud)

- p rated tires, any of them are all rated to handle much more lbs than you could put on your truck even overloading it. That said for sway stiffness etc I pu ton 10 plys on mine. I'd recommend it. (the facotry 6 ply LT f150 tires have lower rating than many 4 plys)

What we need someone to do is take a 4 leaf max tow and a 3 leaf newer max tow and do a measured squat test to see if the 3 are thicker to do what the 4 could do.

If you're going to spent this much money, buy the truck you want, not settling for something else.

Build your truck on the Ford website. Then do the same thing on the Edmunds.com website. Edmunds will tell you the dealer cost of the truck + each accessory. It'll also tell you the MSRP of everything, then what everyone else is paying. The next option is to have them contact your local dealers with what you're looking for.

The dealer I ultimately bought from search 2600 dealerships to find the EXACT truck I wanted. It was purchased while being transferred to another dealership out of state (they bought a bunch of trucks from another dealer).

I did have to pay for the transport fee to bring it back $600, but was worth it. I paid about $8K below the MSRP.

Here's the truck I built online (Ford's example photo):

Here's the actual truck in my driveway:

If you can't find exactly what you're looking for, then order it and have it built. If you price the cost of adding the options afterwards, and the hassle of having it done, this becomes an easy decision.

Life is too short to settle for what was available, rather than what you really wanted!
