Anti-theft indicator light

So, I'm waiting last night in my truck with the key in the ACC position just listening to the radio. I noticed that the passive alarm or anti-theft indicator light keeps flashing which is rather annoying after a few minutes. It would be nice to be able to sit in the truck without that light flashing at you (especially in the dark).

The manual says it will flash when the key is in the OFF position.

Page 145 from the good book:
"When the ignition is in the off position, the indicator will flash once every two seconds to indicate the SecuriLock system is functioning as a theft deterrent."

This is how my previous vehicles were. Programming oversight perhaps?

Minor thing I know, but just wondering.
