Not a bad way to spend $1400 IMO

Hello all, noob here. I just bought my truck less than a month ago (traded up from a Taurus) I convinced my wife that it was essential since we are remodeling our whole house that we just purchased. Since the Taurus was paid off, bringing a new bill into the house has its challenges. At the same time, I wanted to mod it a little without paying too much out of pocket for it. I found this forum about 3 weeks ago and its help me a great deal. I didn't want to go broke but some things I seen on other trucks I wanted on mine. In short, I spent $1400 to make it "not stock":

2010 XLT Screw 5.4L
Chrome & Tow package
Sync

A.R.E. Tonneau Cover - $1005
Flowmasters SI/DO - $275
Tint in front widows - $80
Self Mods:
LEDs in side mirrors - $20
Painted side mirrors - $20
USB2 Mod - Free!

It may not be the best thing money can buy, but its the best thing my money was able to get!

Nice truck, you'll love that cover. Any plans for future mods - bug shield?

I would like to. Drove 4 hours at night 2 weekends ago and by the time I made it back to my house I had a greenish hue all over the front of the truck! Ill start looking at some this week since I have a drive to Atlanta coming up.

YUP! X2 It can be a love/hate relation.

Plus side with the cover is all the refrigerators, washer & driers, stoves, and beds that I haven't been asked to haul any more. ha ha

Nice looking truck.

I was thinking the same thing. I've been remodeling my house for the past 3 years (the end is near!) and would have had a heck of a time with a fiber glass cover on my bed. Definitely would have been more trips back and forth.

To the OP, damn nice truck you have there. Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the site.

Truck looks good! The cover makes it look really good! The only thing I would do is pull of the pinstripe.

I went with the clear bra instead of a bug sheild. I have it on the whole front. Hood, fenders, headlights, bumpers, grill and mirror caps.

Before I had the truck, no one would help me haul materials or trash nor help me remodel so I was stuck renting a uhaul for trash/debris removal and doing most of the heavy labor myself. NOW that I have it everyone thinks I have "extra time" to help them move. Tonneau cover solved all that. "does it come off?" "Nope, I had it welded on, sorry I can't help you tho!"

Thanks, its been off for a few days now, when we moved in we had everything put in the garage that we could while we gutted the carpet (booger green) for hardwood. 1900sqft of carpet is a lot of fabric! The trips to the dump site alone has made this a great buy.

The pinstripe kinda makes it look "classy"! Most of them ususally fall off in the winter anyway so I'm quite sure it will come off soon.

Thanks and cuddo's on the house and truck, and welcome to the forum. I like the pin stripe. As for the cost. I got it on ebay, the film and the install kit(which includes, spray bottle, squeegy, knife, solution, and a dvd with instructions) was about $75 shipped. The kit did not include the mirror caps, I made them from the film that was for the front end of the roof. You can search NuSolis on ebay. The kit with everything is called a mega kit.
