No Gas Cap - Washing
Did my first handwash on my new truck today. On my other vehicles I have always made it a habit of opening the gas filling door and washing that area when washing the side of the truck. When I opened it today, I started thinking maybe this is a bad idea on this truck. With these capless tanks, can water get in the tank when rinsing this area or is it completely sealed?

Sealed
When the nozzle comes out, the little flapper door closes and seals the inlet - both directions. Stuff can't get in and fumes can't get out.
But with that said, it is wise to remove any water that may get trapped at the very top of the inlet. I just touch a paper towel to the area to dry out any stray drops

Convenience. And no more CELs from loose gas cap.

You can get them from Ford. Not that expensive and basically just cover the hole so nothing can be inserted. I have one.
What about the idiots whom leave the gas pump in their filler and drive off????
