Home made tinted harley tails

Well I wasn't happy with my tinted tails. They were dull and I could still see the chrome under the nite shades.

So I decided I was going to venture on with turning the factory lights into a tinted Harley look-a-like. I sanded down the old nite shades and cleaned up the lights. Masked off the red/back up light and sprayed the lights were you could see the chrome. After the paint dried, I wet sanded with 2000 grit, taped off the reverse section again and applied 4 coats of nite shades. Then I applied 5 coats of clear. Tomorrow I'm going to wet sand and buff out the orange peel.

I think they came out pretty good. The camera is playing tricks with the lights since I didn't use the flash, they aren't as dull as they appear in the pics.

Looks d*mn good! If anyone wants the same look and not have to go through all these steps or afraid of messing them up, I spoke with my dealership yesterday and they do tinting of the tails exactly like shown here, with the reverse light and everything. He said $100-$110. Just throwing that out there. But nice work man!!!!

I know one other person has pulled apart the headlights but I've been searching for the last hour and I can't seem to find out who it is. If I can talk myself into it, this weekend I'm going to pull the headlights apart and paint the chrome sections and nite shade the reflector.

As far as the rears supposedly they are "sonic welded" which I guess means they are basically melted together so no getting them apart.
