how accurate are ford dimension specs.
it lists a fx4 crewcab 5.5 foot bed at 76.2 inches tall.
my garage door atually measures 79 inches.
i dont want to get it and bring it home to find out no-can-do.

specs are pretty accurate, it should fit just fine. you can always ask the dealer for a test drive and if you can take it home to try it out.
but also make sure to measure that actual garage doorway height (not just the door). For example I have a raised garage floor and also there's weather stripping on the outside of the door opening that hangs down some. So from my raised floor to the bottom of the weatherstripping that hangs down is 79.5 inches. My garage door is actually 7 foot (84 inches). My Platinum 4x4 crew fits just fine.
also sometimes the support beam in the middle of the garage is actually lower in height than the doorway height, so check that too. I've seen that a few times when I was house shopping a few years ago.

i do have a 1/2 step up on the floor and the door doesn't go up completely, from the floor to the handle its right on with your 79.5 range.
my fx2 is fine, its just the extra 4 inches with the fx4 that worries me. i would definently need to clean off the snow by the door so im not driving over a drift.

Wow either I have a really short FX4 or a really high garage door, (2007 Super crew FX4) I have a Tuff Country 7" lift and running 20's with 33's and mine fits in my garage with about 4 inch's to spare. I guess I will have to go measure my truck and garage door. Wait do you live in the village at the beginning of the yellow brick road?
i hear ya. right now i have a supercab fx2 with a 6.5 foot bed. so a crewcab 5.5 foot bed is actually 6 inches shorter.
