Tuxedo black paint question

Sounds like I'm leaning towards the Tuxedo black on a FX4. When I was checking them out yesterday I noticed that the black has alot of metallic flakes in the paint. As far as black goes, do most people like the metallic flakes? I tend to like it a little more then just a glossy black color. Any troubles with this shade of black? How easy (or hard) would it be to have a Snugtop camper shell painted to match?

I have a tuxedo black FX4 and really like the color. Painting it wouldnt be any different than any other factory color. The local accessory shop had a tuxedo black painted cap on the showroom that looked fine

Unfortunately from experience, I know that paint code for 2010 Tuxedo Black only has one tint available. Because of this, there should be zero problems with Snugtop matching your truck.

Oh and as for the pearl flake in the black, I love it. I traded in my Black Excursion when I bought this truck and it had no pearl or metallic at all. This color is far more sharp in my opinion than just a plain gloss black

I have a Tuxedo Black Platinum and I love the way the metalflake looks. My Snugtop tonneau is a perfect color match!

I have been watching matches of this color closely and have yet to see any glaring mis-matches. There is no metallic in the Tuxedo Black. It is actually glass crystals that give it it's "one of a kind" appearance. Plain black may look good, by the new Tuxedo looks fantastic. Just may be my next color.

I just got my tuxedo black FX4 last week and would recommend it in a flash. The glass or flakes or metallic or pearl or whatever that is in the paint is messsssssmerizing and gives the paint an endless depth. If your old enough to remember playing with marbles then its kind of like looking into one of those round marbles. It's classy with a cool twist. No regrets with tuxedo black.

Here's my 2010 FX4. Metalflake is real thick.

I didn't even know it had metallic flake in it until a week after I bought it and a co-worker pointed it out.

I guess paint wasn't high on my list of priorities...it was black and had everything I wanted so I bought it and didn't think much more about it.

I like it though.

I don't have Tuxedo Black, but I do have the Red Candy Metallic (has the metallic flake also). I love it. Looks so beautiful with the sun shining on it

The black metallic paints don't show swirl marks like the standard gloss black paints. I had a Dodge before getting my Ford and it had black metallic paint and after three years looked better than a buddie's one month old Nissan Altima with gloss black paint. Swirls appear in regular black paint before a new car even leaves the showroom.

PLus, IMO, metallic helps "hide" swirl marks which is the one reason I don't buy black. So yeah, the tux black is a great look. I would have bought it if it were available when i bought my '10 Platinum.
