Upfitter switches on 2010 Platinum Installed

I just completed installing the Upfitter switches from the Raptor into my 2010 F150 Platinum. It is not an inexpensive install, but if you paid $$$ for your Platinum I figure it was worth the $500 to make it work and look stock. It is really simple to do, just swap out the cup-holders to preserve the ambient lighting or you can swap out the tray (not sold seperately) from the Panel Assy into your current (original) Panel.

1. Switch Panel (for the 4X4 & Hill Descent buttons) - AL3Z-13K724-AB (switches included)
2. Upfitter switch pigtail – 3U2Z-14S411-DLA
3. Panel Assy - AL3Z15045A76MA

Here are the pinouts for the switch pigtail (last page)-https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/non-html/Q117.pdf

the only issue that I have is what to do with the ambient lighting switch. I am still trying to find the pinouts for the Hill Descent and Off Road switches so that I can use them (they are momentary also) for the ambient lighting. In the meantime you should know that the ambient lighting will still work with your last settings even with the switch unplugged. You can also re-position the ambient lighting switch, I just havent found a good spot yet.

here are some pics that show the ambient lighting and the illumination of the switches: you can find them in the gallery under : 'upfitter switches' album

Thumbs up Sweet!

Looks good. I've been completely baffled since the 2009 came out, as to why Ford hasn't offered them as an option. They've had them on the SD's since like 2005 or so. Bizarre, just bizarre. You ever listening, Ford? In 2011? Hello. Bueller? Bueller?

By the way, did you wire them up so they are "always hot"? Unfortunately Ford hardwires them in the SD's so that you only get power when the ACC switch is on or the truck is running. For a lot of applications guys would use these for, that makes them completely worthless. But there is a way to get them "always hot", just do a search online.

Looks good man. The only thing I don't like about them is they say raptor svt. Other than that they look awesome

@CometFlash -

yes I wired the 12v to the unused fuse #2 in the fuse panel, I then wired the switch illumination to 12v switched which is fuse #41. The illumination works just like the dash panel, and I can turn on the switches without the truck running or the keys in it.

still trying to figure out how to reposition the ambient lighting switch - I was able to procure the connectors from Tyco to be able to build an extension pigtail.

Question

How thick is the plastic Raptor panel? Could you use a dremel tool to cut out a space big enough to leave your switch where it is but flush with the top of the Raptor panel?

it would be doable, except I would have to destroy the original switch housing from the tray to mount it. So my plan is to figure out the hill descent switch and the off road switch and use those for the ambient lighting color select and the intensity level....any other ideas are welcomed
