Update on leveling kit problem

Well if anyone read my earlier post i had a problem with the leveling kit installed. The guy said the new ford body styles could not handle a 3" leveling kit and that's what he ordered me. But i had him take it out because i had a bunch of weird noises coming from the front suspension. Today headed home i heard it pop and then it sounded like my whole front suspension was about to fall off. So i had to get the 24 hour roadside assistance to tow me up to the local ford dealership and i am currently waiting on the diagnosis.

do you have a 4x4? I have never heard any good about a 3" leveling kit. I would never put anything larger then a 2.5". Personally I like the look of the 2". Keep us posted. For those of us whom have done just a little research, seem to have no issues..

well the ford dealership just called me back and they are not sure what is wrong with it but they know something is definitely wrong. They have to get a specialist look at it. he thinks they may have put it back together wrong but they are not completely sure. 2 more days without my truck..

There is not a lot to put back together wrong? The 3" is a bit much on the new 150's. I couldn't imagine the strain a 3" would put on the upper control arms and would probibly rub on the springs something fierce. The 2.5"is almost too much, but thats what I did on mine and everything seems good so far. I did mine myself and it was pretty easy and the most I usually do on my vehicles is the oil changes. Hope you get it fixed quick and raise holy hell with the guys that did it.

Yeah that shop better make it right. Must make you sick having a brand new truck start having problems like that. It's good you took it to the dealer to make sure you know everything that they might have screwed up. Good luck man!

ok so i just got my truck back tonight. When they installed my leveling kit it binded up my CB axles which broke my IWE (or whatever it is). But tonight i put it in 4wd to test it and i heard a click and then i put it in drive and then another click and then a clunk after i start rolling and it didnt want to come out of 4lo. i put it back into 2wd and it was still in 4lo it seemed like. so idk whats going on... maybe its because the part is brand new..

mm. could be that it is just not disingaging. I beleive that the IWE is (Intergrated Wheel End) which is basically the wheel hub. the solenoid that engages/disengages the hub for 4x4 traction. I would make sure they take a look at it again.

If you're in 4-Low and shift out of neutral, then yes, a noise is to be expected, otherwise, it may or may not be a problem. Mine doesn't make much noise when in 2wd, or 4-high and shift out of neutral
