small cubby holes in dash?

So, what can one use the small cubby holes on the dash? I know some come with trailer brake controller on the left and some have two emtpy holes.

Is there anything one can use them for?

well, i dont have one, but i drove one today and its the perfect place for my wallet. i never drive with my wallet in my back pocket as it hurts my back and butt, and it was the perfect size for the wallet.

Angry How difficult would it be, Ford?

It's where Ford teases us that it could easily have offered Upfitter Switches in one of those spots... but won't.

Ford seems to like putting useless holes in the dash. My '04 XLT has a cubby at the bottom center under the cupholder that is a total waste of space. It's so shallow that anything I put there slides out, and it's so low down that it's pointless to try putting stuff there that you use regularly.

But then, after 6 years I'm also struggling to find a good use for the overhead rail system that Ford marketed so proudly back in '04.
